SP, the reality is that Packet Writing is a very small % of each user daily/normal use. Packet Writing supposed to re-gain its "glory" with technologies like "Mount-Rainier" however...as it seems no drive supports it either at CD or DVD format.[X(]

I personally feel the same. Only because I do not packet write. But this test should probably be still here because there would no doubt be some members that packet write and need this info.. I am backing Mt. Rainier. (when it finally gets OS intergration that is).

There are many drives that support Mt. Rainier through CD format. My Plextor W4824TA I just popped in supports it, and it's not the newest of CD recorders.. [;)]

Aren't DVD+RW mandatory recorded in packets?? Isn't the DVD-RAM write method packet as well?
