MP3Mogul -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/21/2002 10:06:48 PM)

I just came from K-Mart and what I purchased put a big BIG [:D] on my face. I found Fuji 48X cd's in the new cakebox spindle's for 10.99!!! I bought all they had on the shelves, got home ran cdr-identifier, they are TY media. This was an awesome price, so I went to the other K-Mart in town and they were 19.99 there! Guess someone marked them wrong in the K-Mart I was in.

well if you bought the fuji's from bestbuy like last week, be sure to go back to bestbuy and get them to price match the price to k-mart.. just show them the reciept.

Graffitti: Thanks, I already did today, got 400 more of them![:D][:D][:D][:D][}:)]

hey... you wanna send me some don't you :)

Clint -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/22/2002 12:24:53 PM)

Graffitti, what does the actual top of the disc look like?? (Do you have a pic?)

Do these 48X Fuji (TY) have any logos on top of 'em or are they unbranded or what?

Graffitti -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/22/2002 7:27:38 PM)

They're actually branded as Fuji's.

MP3Mogul -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/23/2002 1:14:02 AM)

Yep, that's the same ones I bought so cheap! [:D][:D][:D]. Sorry about sending ya some Graffitti, I'll be burning all those this week. But I'll pass info along as I find those. Seems that I get lucky finding the Fuji (TY) discs at cheap prices each time I go out somewhere! [8D]

Graffitti -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/23/2002 1:20:41 AM)

I'm down to about 240 TY's left.. think that'll maybe last me a month tops. There's a circuit city deal on memorex 50 pack that comes out to around 5 bucks after rebate. Just look for the black spindle top. Also CC is having I think 2.99 after rebater on Jensen 50 packs, which should be princo.

Not sure how princos are. Then you can score some Riteks at BB with the AT&T, just look for the gray bottom ones.

not sure how good the Princos that Jensen uses are, and how good the Riteks that AT&T uses are.

A friend of mine offered me some "att" cdr's that he got at bestbuy this weekend, but was was not sure of the quality. It was a 50 pack, for $1.99 (after rebate). I would be interested to know if they are a good enough quality to be trusted. I guess at that price, it is almost worth taking them and using them as coasters, (He says they are rated at 40X)

MP3Mogul -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/24/2002 2:23:51 AM)

Scott,

I read somewhere that there were problems with the ATT discs, but I can't remember the article. Have you ran CDR-Identifier to see who manufactured the media? This will generally give you some type of indication as to the quality of the media. If I remember correctly, these discs are manufactured by CMC, but don't quote me on that.

Graffitti -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/24/2002 3:07:46 AM)

if the spindle is gray, then it's by Ritek, if it's black, then it's CMC.

The Ritek ones should be pretty decent.

Laffin Assassin -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/24/2002 3:19:03 AM)

But not on the CRW-F1 yet !!![:(]
I have had nothing but Coasters with Ritek with the F1 as I have said many times since Yamaha released it but I am sure the next firmware will sort this out or at least I hope it will !!![:)]

Graffitti -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/24/2002 3:25:57 AM)

Are these new Riteks, or old Riteks?

I'm kinded tempted to pick some up for myself, and give them a test or two.

Well the ones that I have used for a long time with no problems on the 3200e are 32x and I have about 300 left and also the 40x I have about 400 left and I get Coasters all the time with the CRW-F1 and any Ritek I try but they still work fine on the 3200e !!![:(]

Scott1 -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/24/2002 3:58:22 AM)

My friend tells me that his $1.99 "ATT" cdr's from bestbuy have Verbatim written on them. Does that make them likely made by verbatim, or does the CMC/Ritek thing still hold?

rjw -> RE: New Taiyo Yuden spindle cake box (9/24/2002 5:01:49 PM)

Well I think these are disc's made at the CMC Magnetics's factory's for verbatim and which are used by Verbatim as budget disc's for third parties and ther own value life and data life (without the +) disc's.
