chip -> Lite-On 24102B & CDRWIN wont work !! (9/29/2001 11:37:17 AM)

Hi all, When I try and back up a CD with CDRWIN 4.0A (new version)by writing .bin and .cue file to HDD It says every thing worked ok but then when I put the CD in the drive it just comes up with nothing. The label is just 'D:Cd' and thats it. The data has burned as I can see the 'burn marks' on the bottom of the CD. I have tried writing at lower speeds but no luck. ANy help would be great.

CDRWin sux ass, use FireBurner to burn .bin files instead, get it @ www.fireburner.com

Yes.. but saying CDRWin sucks, and use Fireburner doesn't help much. Anyway -- What kind of ASPI Layer are you using chip?

i have read in several places that cdrwin does not currently support the liteon 24x. but you gotta admit, aspi or no aspi, support or no support, cdrwin still sucks. either use fireburner or convert to iso with isobuster or cdmage and burn with almost anything.

Hmm, i remember the old dos based dao by goldenhawk which was one of a very few programs that would copy psx games. Then Cdrwin was the windows interface version of the same program and at the time there were still very few that did what cdrwin did. The main problem is if you have a hacked cdrwin or one that has been registered with a keygen ,then it will burn coasters on purpose after so many copies. I guess its a sort of payback for stealing their software. Cdrwin may not have all the features of other writing software these days but is certainly not crap, ive used my legal version for years on and off and i have NEVER had any problems with it. As for the support for the liteon 24x10x40, the latest version does support it as my friend has that drive and it works fine....Nuff said
