You are so close, it hurts.

Goto to main cdrinfo page, click aticles, then overclocking, then look to index on right; click Liteon, and there you go....

BTW, I made those flashers, if you need any help, let me know.

    These windows flashers, as far as I have seen, have not messed up your drive. The only time I have seen a bad flash was under mtkflash. but, consequently, mtkflash is the only way to bring a bad flash back again. Don't worry about the flash, if you don't like the upgrade, then use the VSxx to ZS0K and your set. If for some reason you do have a bad flash--i.e. a dead drive--do not panic as you can, without a doubt, bring the drive back. I can help you there.

    Now, there is a program out there call WSES that is dos based that has apparently erases eeprom on Liteon drives when the users does not know what he is doing. Then you are screwed. My advise, stay away from WSES usless you REALLY know what you are doing. WSES is a diag. program for your drive--it also checks crc errors, etc.

    thats for the great help :), just flashed it and now in the nero cdtest it now starts @ 22.16x ends @ 48.58x avg=36.97x

    before it started @ 18.84x ended @ 39.97x avg was 31.35

    this is in a P3 1gig asus cusl-2 mobo, 512mb crucial cas2 memory, running 2 harddrives off a promise ultra 100 card and lite-on as the primary master om the mobo controller and asus 50x cdrom as the secondary master on the mobo controller

    thanks again

    ok since everything is working great (thanks for the support ) my next question would be since i flashed the 40125s to 48x and it is being recognized as a 48125W...... when new firmware is released for the 48125W i use that now instead of the 40125s ? or do i use a different flash ?,,,BTW i used "ZSxx to VS06" is there a newer flash available than this one ?

    When new firmware is released for LTR-48125W then yes, use new official as your drive IS a LTR-48125W.

    As for new flasher, no, the VS06 is the latest firmware out.

    My firmware flashing has gone awry. Tried to go 48x, cd burner isn't detected by nero. Tried to go back, detected as 4x burner that doesn't burn. Please help.

    Any chance to update with the latest VS08 firmware?

    RyanVM -> RE: i need some LTR-40125s flash help.... (10/10/2002 3:19:56 AM)

    agreed it would be nice if you did that Porchsong, but on the other hand, it's not too hard to just run the VS08 flasher once the drive is upgraded to 48x :) That's what I did today.

    hoxlund -> RE: i need some LTR-40125s flash help.... (10/10/2002 6:16:24 AM)

    porchsong, you made windows based flashers?, other than the ones that liteon uses?

    i would like to take a look at them

    please see my post re problems with system recognising 40125s as a burner.

    did you solve your problem? I'm not having much success with mine. If there's any advice members could offer it would be most appreciated.

    I just kept flashing back and forth between different versions of the 40x firmware and 48x firmware and it seems to work now. I don't recommend you do this but just in case nothing else works it's something you could try.
