Hi John
Please explain the following:
“It took less than 3 minutes for both drives to finish the SecuROM v.2 test. The WAITEC SFINX16 can only read 16Bytes of SubChannel data, and not full 96Bytes (CD+G). The differences in the performance cannot be clearly made out and both drives are fast.”
When you set read subdata channel in clonecd, please explain how this works / reads the data.
Does it read both audio and data subdata channels at the SAMETIME on the whole CD, even IF there is ONLY data or audio. I assume then that ANY unprotected / empty CD can be used to test for RAW+96 in this case?
Or does it read subdata channels in the Data tracks ONLY, when Data is present and likewise reads subdata channels in the Audio tracks ONLY, when Audio is present. Does this mean that you would need a protected CD with both data and audio to test, or separate protected audio and data CDs?
Or does it read subdata channels in the Data tracks, when Data is present and then change to read subdata channels from the audio tracks, when Audio is present and vice versa. WHICH would mean that you would need a protected CD with both data and audio to test for RAW+96?
Please help, as I am sure that many users of CloneCD, etc most likely don’t know this, hence this information would prove most useful to people to test their writers.
I think you should use a PSX game also to show RAW+96, like Final Fantasy VIII, disc 1, Libcrypt (PAL / UK) for testing.
