Would it be possible to put copy protection on a CD of mine so other people can't copy it. How?

The answer at the moment is No!
But you can get plenty of Shareware and Proffesional programs that will make it quite had for the ordinary computer user to copy it if you go over to

I'm not talking about people who sue Clone-Cd/have new writers. I'm talking about the average Joe who bought their writer a year ago and is using the free software that came with it. How would I go about putting some protection software on it.

Most Joe's who bought their writer a year ago got Nero Burning or Easy CD Creator free with the writer which are both powerfull copying programs. And they will copy just about anything. So the link I have supplied you with still is the best place to find the protection you need. What sort of Data are you thonking of putting on the CD anyway?

I tend to disagree, while Nero does have a "powerful" copy engine, EZ CD Creator does not. It can easily be tricked by illegal TOC's etc. It it absolutly useless for anything with just about any copy protection.

I agree with what you are saying about Easy CD Coaster Creator but it looks like he is after a easy solution and I dont know of one that you can apply yourself that can not be Copied. Do You?

Yeah I know of a very good one for audio CDs, but not data.

Its called "Easy Audio Lock". Works excellent.

Amradicool, get back to me if you require more info. If the CDs are data, afraid I can't help much there...

Yeh, it's a data CD, a few programs and utilities. What would be the easiest way to protect it?

There isn't an easy way to protect data However.
there is one called Freelock and you can get it here and it is a Freeware program:-

Freelock alters the layout of a CD image prior to recording, making the resulting copy virtually impossible to duplicate. This prevents most people making copies of your copies. Freelock runs from a deliberately damaged floppy disk. This damage is all part of the protection process. The disk can be produced by extracting all files from the flock10.zip archive into a directory on your hard drive, then running INSTALL.BAT.

Don't even think of asking for tech support on here as that would be defeating the object . Wouldn't it. So ask the Freelock guys or check on the link above. But be warned protecting data on a cdr is not easy most programs like this do expect you to have a basic understanding of programing! However this is one of the easiest to use.

I have never heard such a load of crap in my life. Laffin goes out of his way to help people with good advice as many will confirm and all you have done is to slag him off. He is right about you all your post's on here are full of crap. All you seem to want to do is bring him down. But he is a lot wiser than you he knows you for what you are a prick.
