With 60x capable chipsets, would be just matter of time to see such recorders. I hope all manufacturers adopt CAV writing method and not Z-CLV. As for re-writing, 32x CAV would be possible in start, and Philips is working hard to push the re-writing even higher (in future)

Yes, I think that a subject that we can all agree upon is that it is exciting to see the swift evolution of hardware in this area as well as other computer areas.

Hey Clint let us know about the OC of 32125W up to 40125W. We are stil waiting for those new babies from LiteON

John,
I got the LTR-32125W on Monday. I sucessfully turned it into a LTR-40125W with no problems. It writes at 40X P-CAV. CD Speed v0.85c (v0.85e failed, must be a bug) write transfer rate test reports:

LITE-ON LTR-40125W vWS03

Average: 31.29x
Start: 18.71x
End: 39.99x
Type: P-CAV

(will send you the CD Speed results by E-Mail so you can post on the front page the graph )

Also the read speeds are boosted to 48x CAV. I made a 76min 22sec audio CD in 2:50 flat!!! (gotta adimit, pretty decent for a Lite-On )

Any questions , you know where I am

Nice... I am now wondering if the burned CDs look ok. Keep the tests going on and let users how the OC went!

Yep they look fine, sound fine, play fine and read fine. No slow downs when they get read at 49.87X with my LTD-163.

No shades of colour differance like with Z-CLV. Just an even smooth shade throughout the CD-R (like the days of CLV).

Data sectors of a disc can be copied. Physical parameters of a CD cannot be copied because they depend on the glass master they were made from. proud of http://www.star-force.com

vdeknock -> RE: StarForce Copy Protection System (6/6/2002 11:47:05 PM)

If that's the case just need to get a few star-force disks from the black market (I am sure the Russian marifa will help) and the wonderful program wont know the difference!

Making backups of discs is really important in my opinion. Why? Our NOLF pressed disc has been damaged from the heavy testing with all drives and now its un-usable. Of course its an old game, but we have paid for it and now we cannot use it.

That's a good reason why people should make backups of their discs...

When you have kids, it's a different kind of "heavy testing," but the results are the same . . .

It's okay to say "Marfia" with me, they're a joke anyway, just like starforce. Can't wait to get my hands on one of those discs.

-Peace-
