Upgrading a dvd player with a cd (Full Version)

Has anyone heard of this method of updating a dvd player using a cd?

The manufacturer of mine makes that claim on the box, but there is nothing about it inside the box. No details on where to get this cd if and when needed. Not even any contact details.


The manufacturer is "Schneider"

I guess you must grab the firmware update of the specific brand and put it in a CD and just insert it in the DVD player. Then some firmware update function must be activated through the DVD options menu.

I think it is disgraceful that nothing about this is mentioned in the manual. How the hell are you expected to know where to obtain one of these cd's, or even when an upgrade is available?

I don't think much of "Schneider"


Can't see me buying anything else made by them.
