I'm debating right now between buying a Plextor 40x or a Lite-On 40x drive to replace my dying HP 10x drive. Anybody have opinions on the matter? Will CDRinfo have a review up of the Lite-On any time soon? Thanks.

I purchased a LiteOn 40x and have yet to have any problems with it. I would buy another one if i had to buy another. It burned anything i tossed at it so far. I am not saying its better than a plex but i must say the LiteOn drive kicks a$$. I used it to replace my old-tired HP 8250i. Hope this helps.

The plextor is better quality but the Liteon is ok .
