comparen -> Medal of Honour and SD2?? (3/9/2002 11:09:40 AM)

Hi guys. Got this installproblem with Mohaa..i know this is a hard safedisk 2 protected game but i managed to read and write an image
of the game successfully with CloneCD 3.3.4.1 with the "proper" settings for a sd2 game. Have a Plextor 8432 burner and the thing is
one can only install the game from that very burner and no other CD-reader, eg.my Asus reader. when trying to install from that reader(Asus)it can't find CD2, (CD1 is no probs) but the ins.procedure runs fine from the Plextor burner. Is this problem due to the SD2 files on CD2? Can you fix this in any way? Some tools or something? Know that my images/original Cd's is proper copied..
Thanks.

thanks.

yes your plex 8/4/32A can copy MOHAA but you have to use either the latest blindwrite or betablocker.....the latest clonecd's "ampliy weak sectors" will not work since it has not been updated with the latest SD2 sector errors....so if you use blindwrite which i suggest use these settings from this forum where i and others have made several successful posts!!! http://forum.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41810

but if you use clonecd you have to use the latest betablocker; thus scan the image and then patch it after making the image with these settings:

Reading
read speed MAX
Fast Error Skip "checked"
Fast Error Skip settings-----0 read retries and none error correction

Writing
write speed MAX
Calibrate Laser "checked"
Amplify Weak Sectors "unchecked"
Don't Correct Subchannel Data "checked"
Close Last Session "checked"

this will work for you please post your results!!!

WRONG: CloneCD author says that 'Amplify Weak Sectors' still detects the new weak sectors of the latest SafeDisc 2 v2.51.XXX builds and up.
Where did you receive this info

Well in responce to your question; please see this thread:
http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4174

I believe it's the same reason they introduced BB in the first place, to patch the weak sectors. Now CCD has AWS, but as you know, AWS isn't avaliable in the US or Japan without "hacks".
Olli says AWS still amplifys the SD2 v2.51 Eight to Fourteen Modulation (EFM) regular bit patterns, whereas, the old betablocker didn't, therefor an update was required.
