Hi, Very new to this, so please excuse asking the obvious. I've just bought some uncoated cd-r discs - my question is can I write with CD pen on them and do I need to exercise any special care with them - also what are their advantages/disadvantages?

What do you mean uncoated? With a non-printable surface?

Ah, that's the point, it doesn't say - the product description just says "TYCDRSILVER TAIYO YUDEN CD-R 80Min UNCOATED Pod of 100 SILVER TOP"
I've tried to google questions like "What is an uncoated cd-r disc?" but can't find anything. Very perplexed.

It has silver surface so you can use a CD pen to write on it.
