Protocol -> CloneCD, Win XP and Sony CRX-1611 (12/5/2001 1:52:20 AM)

Can anyone help me solve the issue I am having with CloneCD? I have been using it for years without a problem, but I recently built a new computer and am running Windows XP Pro with a Sony CRX-1611 burner. But every time I try to backup an audio CD and try to play it back, I get jitters or jumping about half way through the album even though CloneCD says that it completed the burn process. It also hangs. Nero works perfectly, but CloneCD will not work properly. I have tried numerous things without success. If anyone knows what the problem is, I would appreciate it if you let me know.

Try ripping AudioCDs with EAC and burn them with Nero

John, I appreciate your help, but I cannot find the firmware for my burner at that address. Can you be a little more specific please?

I'm afraid there's no new f/w for your burner.
I think what John meant is the latest CloneCd version.

it is quite well known that clonecd isn't very good for backing up audio cds. you said that nero works or you really should try feurio but don't expect clone to be perfect at things it wasn't written for.

Is that true netman? I never heard that before. In fact, I backed up plenty of audio and PlayStation CD's with CloneCD when running ME, but now both are giving me trouble.
Thanks anyway. Much appreciated.

i've noticed clonecd isnt v.good at doing audio cd's, use nero if u can but i dont know if its compatible with your writer. i am thinking of getting a writer like yours too, whats it like at backing up games

Dan, until I upgraded to Windows Xp, I never had problems. I still have no problems with Nero, but CloneCD is giving me hell.

i dont know what to say, as far as copying music cd's i would say nero is much better n e way, so i'd say use that. sorry thats the best i can do.

OK, but why do I get the audio jumping in PlayStation games?
