It has a new feature called weak sector amplification. However, it is not enabled for US or Brits users.

It scans the PC prior to install to figure out where you are. Anyone know where its looking. I would like to try this feature.....thanks

Here is a fix to the "amplifyweak" option that makes it available to those in the US/GB.

1. Run REGEDIT
2. Perform a search for "amplifyweak".
3. Double click when found, and enable by entering "1" vice "0".
"Amplifyweak" appears twice in the registry, make sure you enable both.

Corrected "amplify weak" so that it correctly reads "amplifyweak".

you can also change the regional settings on your computer and it'll work. i'm canadian now!

it doesn't work with the hp 9300 series. I'll continue using the btc IF it ever works with my good cds again:(

So how about the second part of the prohibited to USA and Great Britan piece, the ATIP part. Anyone have a fix for this yet?

kenl, (this is i think the third forum i've answered you on tonight ) when you enable one you enable the other. the atip check thing happens with a utility that runs on startup and appears in your system tray by default. if you don't need it you can disable it.

good luck! this may take care of some of the problems you've encountered lately. let's hope so.

this new feature is kewl.

now i can backup on-the-fly, wasnt able to before since my pioneer couldnt read subchannel.

I can't find it either. I have a liteon so I don't need to do it but I would like to know how to do it I did a search in the reg for "Amplify weak" and it finished with no hits. Do you have to do this right after the install? I got it you have to do "Amplifyweak".

Someone gave the answer earlier in this thread go to control panel select regional settings select any region other than UK or USA it's worked for me both options now work (win98).

I HAVE CHANGED MY REGIONAL SETTING BY:-GOING IN SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL,IN THERE YOU SHOULD HAVE A GLOBE ICON NAMED REGIONAL SETTINGS..?
