has anyone had this experience with this model or other dvd recorders ?

I just used Nero to put a dvd movie on a Sony +RW, it played Ok on the pc, but when I put it in the dvd player it said "error with the type of disc".
When I checked my manual it mentioned it will record to almost anything that has - minus in it, but no mention of +R or +RW.

If your drive is capable of bitsettting/booktyping +R/+RW media, set it to booktype the media to DVD-ROM.  Nero has the option as does ImgBurn... but your drive must support the feature.

So does this mean I could use an +RW if I burn using dvd-Rom, I thought this option is only for dvd-ROM disks, which cost like $12 Au compared to this $2.20.

Are u sure my dvd player will recognise it after I used this option ?
