Hi,

it stands for 'S'afe 'D'isk 2, put simply a type of copy protection that uses intentional errors on the original CD that when copied cannot be written back to the CDR because MOST writers automatically repair the errors, and don't write back the information 1 to 1. Philips and Aopen and Plextor are a few CDRW's that CAN write it back correctly, but it depends on your drive model and firmware.

Sorry but SD2 also has the so called weak sectors that don't let you record it to a cd correctly
check out the clonecd web page to see the recorders that support correct efm encoding of regular bit patterns
