Wonder if anyone can help or is experiencing the same thing.

I can successfully prepare a disc and copy onto it from the hard drive, but then when I go to do the same thing with the same make disc, the recorder rejects it during preparation.

I can do maybe 2 or 3 copy to discs and then find that another 4 or 5 out the same pack don't work.

This happens on different brand discs and on both the + and - RW formats.

Any ideas as it's driving me mad.

So you have an image on the hard drive... you get one good burn and subsequent burns there after are hit and miss (more miss)... Is the PC case well ventilated and you have a good power supply.  My concern is perhaps the optical drive is getting a little warm.  Don't use LITE-ON's much anymore... what is your drive and media speed rated for and what are you speed are you burning the media?  Also, what kind of media have you been using?

I did a firmware update and also gave the disc drive a clean and that seems to have done the trick.
