Hi,

I just been given a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M 7400 laptop. The Device Manager shows the DVD as "DVD+RW RW8165". The problem I have is that it will only play DVD's but will not record, or re-write. I  have tried using two brands of media , both 1-4x, neither is recognised, showing error: "no media or drive not ready" (I'm using Nero 6)

I was hoping that updating the F/W to 103 might solve the problem. I downloaded RFlash and the updated F/W from the Ricoh site, but RFlash doesn't even pick up the drive, the "Target Drive" drop down box is empty! [:(]

Any advice would be very gratefully received.

Hi friend! I think you should look for a firmware update from Fujitsu, usually those drives are sold as OEM, meaning Ricoh won't support them, they need special firmware flasher. Why you don't email Fujitsu support and see what they have to say?
