I am trying to record a sound track that is in an archive of a radio station on the web. I can play it with no problem, but I would like to record it digitally. The SOUnd Recorder that comes with WINDOWS captures only 60 seconds at a time (at a rather low quality). Is there a program that will record longer tracks, perhaps at a higher quality?

I hate to advertise for MusicMatch, as they got REAL DIRTY with me, and I won't go there.... but it will capture online audio, in ANY format that you desire, and you can do with it what you want afterwards.....

Looks like a file mirror, so be kind to the original site and use the mirror for download - not sure if the version is 100% current, size is byte-identical though - and the mirror is WELL FAST.

Absolute MP3 Recorder - actually, it can record to any format you have a record codec for.

Capable of using the soundcard's "loopback" recording - eg. "What U Hear", "Stereo Mix" - or as some cards allow, recording loopback from WAV/MP3 out.

It may be better to try to "rip" the program though, rather than loop it through the soundcard.

Thanks Matthew.... I'm still using MusicMatch for most of the tricks above, but I'm just not very happy with the company themselves...

Try TotalRecorder (http://www.highcriteria.com) as this is a $15 program that captures in MP3, WAV or OGG format **anything** that comes through the sound card. The shareware version doesn't do more than like 30 seconds at a time but the registered ($15 paid) doesn't have any such limitation.
