under CD-R/W Hardware ...
Sanyo has its own section. Hey now.. Teac, Asus, AOpen belong in that place.

No they don't they are not popular enough to warrent their own section (except maybe the Teac) but they will stay where they are as we don't want to clutter the Forum with unnecessary sections that are seldom used !!! [:)]

Sanyo though... Sanyo. Okay :) And yes, Teac should have a section before sanyo.

I don't think I have even seen a sanyo drive for sale ever or in any computer that I have ever worked on.

I think another reason that Sanyo has a section where others do not, is because Sanyo, like LiteON, Plextor, and Yamaha, offers specialized tools that may require additional assistance, and usually those tools only work on THAT specific drive make (although some cross compatabilities exist from time to time).

And don't forget that a lot of drives use Sanyo technology, or are Sanyo OEMs.

The writers with the Sanyo Chipset have outsold any of the Brands you have mentioned and as I have already said the Sections will stay as they are so that is the end of story !!! [:)]

well, it's not a software based "tool" but there is always the Disc T@2 ability on the CRW-F1, which some software supports, and we've had requests for information about on several occasions (in the past). Also there is the Advanced Audio Mastering Quality Recording mode, which is not a standard feature on other drives.
