Is it possible to backup fs2004 I seem to be having a bit of difficulty it just produces read errors when trying to copy on disc 4 all the other discs copy fine 1-3 is there some other protection? I have tried clonyxxl but it only gives that safedisc v2 is there how would you copy this.

i don't actually own the game ,but from my sources i can see that the game is 4cds and the protection is safedisk 2.90,
Let us know which one of the four cd's is the play game disc, which is the disc you cannot copy and what is your pc configuration
I have tested a writer with alcohol 120% to copy a safedisk v2.90 game and worked fine with safedisk2 option on alcohol

It is normal to get the read errors when copying a SafeDisc protected disc. Let it keep going and see if it works...

thanks for the reply disc 4 is the main disc you have to have it in the drive while using fs2004 annoying that there is no way to back up the 4th disc it would not copy and Tron says normall to get read errors! Problem the discc was trying to copy for 35 mins but 0% had been copied to hd. have tried clonecd. any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You must post what recorder you are using for the copy process to be sure that your writer is able to make a valid copy of the game.
I suggest you to use the alcohol 120% recoding software because if you use the safedisk2 datatype mode in alcohol you don't have to worry about the settings you have to use for the recording process.
