Entertainme -> color problems on some dvd burns (6/20/2005 2:33:04 PM)

Hello...new to the forum here.  I have been burning dvds with Nero latest version.  For the most part most of my movies come out clean with great sound.  However, there are some dvds that come out with color problems.  The color is very bright and blurred.  When I've reviewed them on my computer prior to burning...they look fine.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?     Thanks!!!  [:)]

Sounds like a media problem.

Is it possible to be the change due to Z-CLV writing quality?

A bit more information....I have the dvd burner that came with my dell computer 4700C

Dell Optical Drive
8X CD/DVD burner DVD+/-RW with double layer write capability

I've used 2 different types of dvds thinking that might be the problem.  I've used Maxell, and memorex 4.7 GB.  I thought maybe there was some coding or certain movies had a  high color contrast?  lol  What can I say....just a newbie to burning here.

If you can help...it would be appreciated!  [8|]

Is it possible to provide us with a screenshot of the problem?

Are you copying the exact disc content if so there should be no difference in the audio & video quality?
If you are transcoding or compressing the video content then the problem is in the transcoding process, There is no way that the burning process can affect this.

Iggy,

The movie quality is fine on the PC.....but once I burn it....and view it on the TV....the color is very vibrant and blurred.   Keep in mind that this only happens on a few movies.

These are not burns from the original DVD...but peers

I'll try to get a screen shot for you...and display tomorrow.   Thanks

Flash,

Once the movie is downloaded....I burn it with Nero 6.3 Ultra
This does not happen on every movie.   If it's not the burning process...what do you think it might be?  The type of DVDs that I'm using?

As the data on the DVD media is recorded digitally and your problem is analogue then it is the source material that is the problem. The fact that it plays OK on the PC does not mean that it is OK it just means that the playback software is compensating for this problem and optimising the video quality accordingly.
I will repeat.
The data recorded onto the DVD is digital and unless there are any file errors (noticeable by poor readability of the disc & severe pixilation) the burnt data will produce the same data output as the source material, so I would look at the source material for your problem. There could even be a PAL NTSC SECAM mismatch which has nothing to do with the media or the burning process.

You mention, "download" are you ripping directly from the original source disc?

Entertainme -> RE: color problems on some dvd burns (6/21/2005 3:34:37 PM)

downloading from peers--not the original disk
