I was wondering if there is any way to test the quality of video ripped from a DVD to the HD before it is burned onto a DVD-R?  I'm aware of programs to check the quality of DVD discs, but I haven't heard of a program that does this.  Thanks.

Use your DVD player software and select to play the DVD from the hard drive to view the quality of the movie before burning

If the movie is playable on the HD there would be no problem. Make also sure you have the HD defragmented just before burning.

Thanks for the replies.  So there isn't like a software diagnostic tool for this purpose?

Your eyes are the best judge of quality for this purpose

there are some software which can compare two AVI files and give you some PNSR and NS % (noise levels) but i wouldn't give them much chance, since are very slow and your eyes are the ultimate judje
