I have a standalone dvd-player called Skantic dv810. Worked without a hitch, played all kinds of dvd's without problem, until suddenly the sled-door won't open anymore (and the sled won't come out). I can hear that it's trying to do something but it just won't work. Guarantee just expired of course. Anyone with similar problems +solution? All suggestions, tricks, help, moral support most welcome.
this is what happens when you are getting cheap models from unknown brands. On the other hand, if it's cheap, you can throw it away and buy a new one[:D]
i think the only way to solve your problem is open the player and try to see what's wrong. i don't think that any firmware stuff will do the trick
Should be a tiny hole for emergency eject purposes. Perhaps you can get it open with a paperclip..... and then see if it will work again. Other than that... DVD players are CHEAP right now, even NAME BRAND ones...... I always suggest a Name Brand One....
Thanx guys! Most appreciated! I got it working again. Opened the door with a toothpick, so I could see the tray. Saw some small wheels below it, jerked them a bit left and right. Problem solved! For some unknown reason it just got stuck. Works like a dream! Skantic forever![:)]
