[:@]Hi, I see many graphs showing Nero CD Speed DVD Quality Test performed using an NEC 3500A DVD Burner, I have the same burned with the latest firmware and i cannot get Nero CDSpeed Quality test to work on that Drive? Is there anything special that needs to be done or any particular firmware?

I use Verbatim 8x DVD-R, i burn them using the NEC 3500 and when i try to run the Nero CDSpeed DVD Quality test, i always get "Error initilizing test".

You can't perform Quality Scans with the NEC 3500 without special firmware. This firmware has NOT been released to the public yet - only a "research" firmware has been made available to a handful of people (fw version 2.R8) and all 3500 scans you see can be attributed to these few people. This PIE/PIF scanning firmware is THE most awaited feature for the NEC 3500.

For the NEC 3520 such a firmware (version 3.04) has already been released.

Once the NEC 3500 firmware becomes available (if ever?), you will need Nero CD-DVD Speed version 3.75 or newer to perform scanning (3.80 is currently the latest version). DVDInfoPro can also be used (but you still need the right firmware).
