I have three wav files I would like to transfer to a cd-rom using a volume levelling feature.

Goldwave has volume "match" and "maximize" options but they appear to be available when you actually record sound (when you create the wav files).

MusicMatch has a similar feature also.

Could anyone suggest how I could proceed using one of the two softwares above, or Nero Media or any other?

Music Match seems to work better than any program I've tried for volume leveling. Just add the tracks to the library, then open the libary, right click the track and select "prepare tracks for volume leveling" Next, before you burn, edit the burn options to "Apply Volume Leveling To Tracks" It does a great job.

Thanks very much for the tip. I used it apparently with success. Since it is classical music, I'll be checking the results with a musician (for the hi-lo's) and be reporting back by mid of next week.

Glad that worked out for you, I am a serious audiophile, and I use MusicMatch only for this purpose, because I have found nothing that compares to it when the need arises for volume leveling.

No problem mate! [;)]

My musician found an improvement in the two Cds I prepared for him, one with MusicMatch 8.2 (with apply volume leveling and current digital sound enhancements), the other with Nero 6.6.0.8 (with Normalization filter). However, he would like us to start the capture over again from scratch.

We used Total Recorder 5.1 for the capture part. Is there a better program?

For volume leveling, what is the RMS value which should be used preferably?

I use 95 percent personally, but as I stated, MusicMatch does a better job.

As for the capture, I would suggest EAC. (Exact Audio Copy)

This would be audio tape capture, from a hi-fi set to the line-in hub in my sound card. Sorry, I wasn't very precise in my question. It doesn't look like EAC handles tapes.
