cheerful -> Nero Audio CD does not end properly (4/1/2005 2:51:57 PM)

Win XP Pro SP2, latest Nero 6.6, BenQ 1620 with B7T9 firmware, mp3 source, burn to CD Audio

Playback works fine until the end of the CD. The last 10 seconds or so will keep looping and never end. Tried both CD and CDRW, 70min and 80min.

Had no problems before with an older Nero and CD Writer.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cheerful...

You might try removing and reinstalling Nero, as I've burned many many audio CD's with it, without any problem, with 4 different burners.

Already tried re-installation, incl. removing all Nero directories and registry entries for ahead, still the same problem.

One a different CD player, the CD will keep spinning at the end and the time does not move any more.

I've tried use Disc-At-Once and Track-At-Once, same result.

Enable/Disable CD Text, same result.

Enable/Disabl "Remove silence at the end of audio tracks", same result.

The only thing left is CDA Options, which I don't know what it means. The current CDA file strategy setting is "Diskspace strategy (default)".

Is there anything I missed? Could it some kind of codec problem -- the tracks play fine.

Thanks!

Have you perhaps tried different media? Is your drive's firmware up to date?

I don't know if that helps, but having ASPI system drivers is always better than not.[:D]

Yeah, 3 different CDR/CDRW. BenQ 1620, B7T9. Some says the B7U9 is a not good so I did not upgrade.

I thought XP no longer needs it and there were some arguments from both sides. The DVD's burned with Nero are fine though.

Nero has it's own ASPI if you "dont" have it installed, however most users have reported better success with ASPI installed. If you would like to give it a try (you can always uninstall it) you can download it at the link below, just please read and follow the instructions. Download ASPI here

Tried and still not working. I tried to use Windows Media Player to create the audio CD and it does not work either. I am now wondering if it is a hardware problem.
