markanini -> Firmware overclock 12x cd-rom (6/18/2003 10:10:14 PM)

I have an old 12x cd-rom an its peatty slow. I was wondering if anybody knows how I can make it go faster. I think its called CD-912E/ATK and it's made by either Aopen or Acer. Anybody owned this drive maby?

Sorry I don't think there is anyway to increase the speed of you CD-Rom but with the prices being so low at the moment why even try it is far easier to Buy one!!![:)]

When it comes to reading reliability, newer and faster drives do not usually add too much. I would personally like to own and use a good old 8x (preferably CAV) reader or recorder.
I would also pay some money in order to be able to use some of these chinese readers at a lower, and less noisy, speed:)

No need to pay money if they happen to be compatible with THIS
