I don't think Packet writing has ever evolved into a reliable solution and Mt. Rainier never really took off either. My alternative would me multi-session CD buring. I use Golden Hawk's CDRWIN's DAO product and good ol' command shell/batch scripts. Will never gamble on any packet writing product again.
Before a time I was working with InCD. All I had was troubles, so I remove it. The ordinary way seems to be the best. Multi-session is a convinient recording type but I use it only for data transfer.
