kthan -> What would be the best DVD copying software? (2/8/2005 2:50:58 PM)

I am trying to copy some of DVD movies and softwares for my NEC ND-3500A drive.
What would be the best softare for that? I need a easy-to-use, solid (no error), hopefully region free(don't know how to do it) software. I heard good things about DVD shrink, but I am not sure it is good. How about DVD-X-Copy?

Also, is there a tip to shorten the encoding time (I don't know this is right term: a time to read the data ready for burning, usually it takes very long time. Do I need this process to copy DVD?)? What software is good in this respect?

Thank you for your advice in advance.

How about Nero?

DVDShrink is quite good.

You can also easily customize your backups with DvdReMake. By getting rid of the things you don't need (like trailers, extras, etc) you'll save space for movie itself and have better quality backup.

I also have the simular question. but what i concerned most is that which software can copy a dvd movie with the best quality? actually before i came here, i only know dvdxcopy is a good one and decss(maybe spell like this) is another good one.
is it possible to make the video quality is same to the original?
thanks

I asked same question in another post. but i think ask here is better. I don't mind its free or need to pay, quality is the only thing i mind, because I may need it to do some commercial business(of course not selling copyright protected movies, just make some copys of home video). and because they pay me, so i want to be more professional.
I also have another question(maybe asked too much [;)]) i know adobe premiere is a very professional video editing tool, but it really expensive, does it worth it? and is there any other software can replace it with same quality? I only do little editing, maybe not need such a powerful one, but quality is important.

If you are not backing up protected films, I would say "NERO" is your best choice.

NERO?? I think it can only backup whole disc, but i need something that let me choose which clip i need.

Sounds like you need a basic DVD mastering software rather than a copying software. I recommend TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6
