so the burned that i got its capable of burning a -r .. so that its recoginzed as a rom? ... ( i have the NEC 3520 )

Bitsetting (aka setting the booktype) is only for the DVD+R(W)(DL) media. The DVD-R(W) media is pretty much recognized by all DVD players.

hi i dont know anything about firmware
i have just brought a 1x NEC ND-3520 Black DVD Writer with Nero 6 Suite 3 ok i have fitted it correctly ok so why do i need a firmware done on the drive ok and how do i go about getting it done and which one do i need

ok

im not clude up on firmware ok and also what is the difference between dvd+r and dvd-r disc's ok please let me know asap thanks

currently there isn't any newer firmware, you can dump your own version and compare it with the one we have posted at the sticky topic, if there is something newer, let us know

what do you mean dump your own version and compare it
how would i go about doing that ,
and why would i want to do that what advantage would i be gaining by doing this as i fitted the drive and as far im aware it works ok
so why do i need to use a firmware ok
