This feature is supported by the drive since fw1.03.

Because the drive doesnt report this feature page.

Same goes for a lot of other drives too. It's the manufacturers problem really and nothing to do with dvdinfopro.

A big welcome from me Lightning UK, I am very glad to have you here with us.

If you can confirm for me the drive does indeed support it with a standard book type of DVD+RDL, and you send me the dvdinfopro.log file I will do a forced add to show it correctly.

With the latest 1.04 firmware it supports reading of DVD+R DL media, recognizes the media as DVD-ROM not DVD+R DL, despite the media booktype

I can't get my new LG GSA-4120B (bought in the UK as a bare drive) to work. I fitted in my XP SP1 PC and added Nero 5.5. Everything is at the latest revision. - Nero does not recognise the drive, showing only the image recorder as a target, although the CD Autodetect correctly identifies the drive as a CD recorder and hence not testable.
I downloaded DVDinfoPro today to help diagnose the issue.
It may be of no use to the developers as I have a still-undiscovered problem, but I thought it worth a post in case it does.
In case it helped solve the problem, I updated the firmware from A102 to the latest available A104.
Note that DVDinfo does not show the serial number(screenshot at the very end of this post) - I don't know why.
I presume the lack of writing capability is a symptom of the problem - any help appreciated.

Can't afford it:)
I like Nero and it does say that 5.5 can write DVDs too - I'd be happy to just be able to burn a CD today, and buy 6 soon.
Downloaded freebie http://www.deepburner.com/ - says my CD blanks are not writeable.
I'll download the Nero 6 demo and see - if it works I'm sorted.
