It appears there are broken picture links:
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=9931&PageId=13

Edit: Looks like after this page there are lot's of more broken links

Also, I noticed that the Plextools Q-Check often reports 5x-12x testing, when the actual testing speed is almost always 2x-5x, as shown by the time taken to do the test... except in rare cases where 2x CLV testing was used. Would it be possible to maybe call attention to situations where the testing speed changes?

Edit: I've noticed a few Q-Check tests *ARE* done at 5x-12x PCAV too...

I know, our webmaster is looking at them, the Q-Check scan speed indication is false, take a look at the reading time

Okay....

So all the scans SHOULD have the same time length. The most common time taken is about 15min give or take... this is a scan speed of 2x-5x CAV I think... or is it 3x-8x CAV?. There *ARE* deviations though...

Maxell 4X DVD-R @ 4X
Takes 20:26

Optodisc 4X DVD-R @ 4X
Takes 23:59

SKC 4X DVD-R @ 4X
Takes: 27:24

Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R @ 4X
Takes: 19:01

3A 8X DVD+R @ 4X
No Details listed!

Optodisc 4X DVD+R @ 4X
Takes: 27:19

Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD+R @ 4X
Takes 6:32

The increased reading times might be blamed on reading problems (although I doubt this is always the case) but the reduced reading time for Taiyo Yuden 4x DVD+Rs is deffinatly a faster scan speed.

most scans are with 2~5CAV, while sometimes Plextor drive will read the disc much slower resulting a higher reading time

Perhaps this is something that should be elaborated on....

I don't know about you, but my Plextor 712a has the tendancy of every once and while *stopping* in the middle of PI/PO testing, and just sitting there, sounding like it's recalibrating or something, and then after 30-45 seconds, it starts testing again at the slowest speed possible. This happened to me on a RW disc that scanned great for PI/PO errors, but failed transfer rate tests... it played perfectly start to finish on my PS2 however!

I have noticed that at very high PI errors, the drive seems to slow down and the overall reading time increases...
