Hi Again NormaN
I have noticed that you are saying you have got v4.0.1.10 The Latest version is the v4.1.0.0 not the one that you have so the first thing you will have to do is download the latest version from :-
http://elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/download.html
As only the latest version has the Virtual CloneDrive I am surprised no one noticed you don't have the correct Version !!!
I hope this Helps !!!

Okay, I just want a honest opinion from someone who is not bias in anyway towards either CloneCD and Alcohol 120%. Which one is the best copying program? I have used CloneCD and had no problems with it so far, but I have not tried Alcohol yet. So, an honest opinion will be appreciated!!!!!

everybody else has their opinion, might as well form your own. just download the trial of alcohol and give it a try. let us know what you think.

Samurai_49: Unfortunatly, there is no such thing as a completely unbiased person :( However, there are people here who seem well versed in both pieces of software and they can help you with your questions on either one. For me, I find Alcohol more user friendly then CloneCD, and I haven't had to many good experiences with CloneCD in the past, but I'm currently in the process of giving it another try, since I've heard so much good stuff about it.

In response to people saying Alcohol is surpassing CloneCD in developement: It's a lot easier to catch up, then it is to make new innovations. We have to remember this as Alcohol 120% continues to improve so quickly. I'm sure that the updates will slow down after they've achieved the most important and sought after features.

So let's all do our best to help these two pieces of software along! cause it's our reports and questions and requests that keep them getting better and better!

Even though I am on the Alcohol support team, I still think CloneCD is a GREAT software. I use both myself. I like Alcohol 120% because being on the team, I know it better than CloneCD, but you can download a demo of each and decide for yourself. You might decide to keep both....

k, this is a n00b question, but I have 4.0.1.9

Do I need to pay to upgrade to 4.1.0.0 or do I just download it? If so, where can I get it?

hi klumpdud. if you have a registered copy of clonecd you do not have to pay extra for updates. you can download from elby.ch.

If you have a registered copy then just make sure you are online and start CloneCD then click "Tools" and then check for updates.

I have a LiteOn 24102B that has not been able to make a SecuROM*NEW copy using CloneCD. While I really like CloneCD and feel it is a great program and helpful people like LA and Tron have gone out of their way to help by posting exacting settings for me to follow; it just would not work. I tries Alcohol 120% and every title backed up safely. I intend to use both programs and encourage all users to try both before forming an opinion. However, if you just can't get one to work try the other.

Tron, I am sure most of us have both in the system, if they r really into backing up games or other cd protected softwares!!! If the cd u wanna back doesn't work by using cloncd then use Alcohol, and vis versa. No need to stress about it. Both programs are great and they help a lot of us out there to achieve what we want and this is the main objective!!! It doesn't hurt to learn both great cdrw program does it?

Anyway keep up the good work guys!!!
