don't know ur particular system, but I remember that sometimes depending on what I did, I'd get no sound with flask. I found I had to set up all the codecs 'in one go'. If I say selected xvid code by mistake, and then changed it to divx, when I encode I'd get no sound. Also, if I set it up to do audio at 44.1Khz, but then have to go back and change it to 48khz, I'd get no sound. I'd have to get it right all in one go, or I'd have to close flask and start again. Since ur encoding dvd, I recommend compressing the audio with a 48khz sample rate otherwise I sometimes had sync problems. I used to use a bitrate of about 1500-2000 kbps for the video rate, but that was to span across 2 cds (I sometimes got lucky with a projector). Hope that helped. PS - If u happen to do a whole movie and then end up with no sound (hope it doesn't happen), look up RIPPAK which has a vob audio ripper. U can rip(and automatically compress to mp3) the audio and then mix the audio and video with virtual dub in about 5 minutes. All the best
