I recently upgraded to Firmware 5S0J from 5S0D and noticed that the error correction has very poor performance compared to 5S0D. I tried to downgrade but this f**ing windows flasher complained(I think you all know what about.). Anyway, I tried to patch the exe-file so it doesn't complain anymore, and it worked! I found out that you got to change the following offsets via a hex editor(use HexWorkshop or similar):

4F6F: 85 --> 84
4F7C: 85 --> 84

As for now, all the windows firmware updates have the same size, so the offsets to be changed are always the same!
If done, you can flash as usual.

Can that truely be trusted? I really need to get back to 5S07 since EAC only allows 7.9x in read speed with the latest firmware (have tried with both Windows 2000 and XP, no difference), and I can�t afford to trash my burner so I really need to know if it�s true...

you always downgrade to 5S07 by using the DOS downgrade and then upgrade to whatever fw version that you wish to use.

I have 24102B CDRW drive and the newest firmware (I just updated it!). The new firmware has been giving me too much problems. Can I downgrade my firmware to 5S07 even though my drive comes with 5S0D?

yes, you can downgrade to 5s07, but you will need to use the DOS flash. You can get it from the site that I listed above

Can you downgrade from Version 5S54 (latest)with the Dos Bios Flash.
And Has any one done it. I don't need a Door stopper.And does 5s07 (dos)Read Audio Cd's better without the Flashing.And refusing to read some Audio's like 5S54.
