Can the Toshiba D-RW2 recorder be stopped or paused during a recording, and then continue recording again? I want to be able to record a football game, stop the recording during a commercial, then continue recording again.

If this recorder cannot do that, can someone tell me what to look for in a DVD recorder's specs that would be descriptive of the ability to do what I'm after?

No idea, I use a DVR.  I doubt it is possible with optical recording equipment.

I own a Toshiba D-RW2 and can confirm that you can pause recordingto remove commercials. You simply press the pause button to stop recording, and when you press it again recording resumes. Hope this helps.

Thanks for reply MS. At the time I asked the question I had absolutely no knowlege re DVD recorders. Since then I have purchased a Panasonic ES-15 DVD recorder and I'm still learning things about recording, but I now assume that all DVD recorders have a "pause recording" capability.
