I download through p2p videos to play on my DVD Player, e.g. I'm a member of CinemaNow.  In the past I've had problems with my DVD Player pausing, skipping, and jumping, even quiting on recorded dvds, e.g. I'd download an avi file, burn it to a DVD+R blanks, go and play it on my DVD Player (I run a laser clearner, use a good burning software, e.g. Nero 7) and when I tried to play it, as said, skip, jump, pause, etc.  Not all the time, but often enough to make the viewing anxious becaue I was waiting for skipping or whatever.  I've been told that recorded media is more difficult for a DVD Player's laser to read than commercial DVDs, but there are better DVD Players with better laser reading capabilities.

Can anyone suggest a good DVD Player for recorded media, i.e. avi, mpeg, etc. files, burned to a DVD+ or -- blank to be played on that DVD Player?

Hi Antonio:  I use Nero 6 software and hp DVD Writer 400c hardware to burn on DVD+R blanks (my DVD Player takes only +R blanks).  I'm considering puchasing a DVD Player that plays DVD-R and DVD+R blanks and more.  I'm wondering if I can avoid the DVD burning completely by buying a DVD Player that plays CD-R/RW blanks to which are burned avi, mpeg, etc files.  If that can happen, then why even burn DVD.  Just burn an avi or mpeg file to a CD-R/RW disc and put that in the DVD Player.  Are there any DVD Players that'll play CD-R/RW that have avi or mpeg or whatever files burned to them?

As a last idea, my seriously considerintg a D-Link media player.  But right now I need infor on a good DVD Player that has a wide combination of file and CD/DVD capabilities.  Please advise.

So you mean you want a player capable of DivX formats etc. Yes, there are many such players. There is cheap Pioneer model but I can't think the specific model. Do a search to their website.

Apart from this make sure you have the latest firmware for your drive and also decent media.
