Have not had a problems with the program until today. When I ask it to identify media it freezes and locks up my computer. I am using an external Sony 710-UL, have uninstalled and reinstalled but no differance. The drive seems to be working except with infoPro.
Any Help

Tried converting to a LiteOn instead?

Latest firmware installed, the drive is six months old and i don't want to spend the $$. Beside I like Sony and the drive does and did everything until recently?

Haha, no I meant TURN the drive to a LiteOn. It's actually a liteon manufactured drive, running a Sony OEM firmware. The drives traditionally perform better running the LiteOn firmwares.

Create the freeze, then send me the dvdinfopro.log file from the installed directory, it *may* lead me to your problem. I have had not any other reports of this kind to date.

It may be a while before I get to look at the code if a problem exists as I am across the other side of the planet visiting Roxio and Sonic.

cheers

Need directions on getting the "dvdinfopro.log file" When I ask the program to do the media id the window goes blank and the hour glass appears and thats it. I have to disconnect the external drive or pull the battery to turn it off. When I come back the software for the external drive (nero) is wrecked ( little yellow circle with an "!" mark) according to Sony's tech support. I have to uninstall and reinstall to return to normal. I have been using the program with no problems until I upgraded.
Thanks for any help

I don't think the above log will help since it refers to the internal drive. While mucking around trying to get the external drive back up and running I found something interesting. After uninstall and install and on and on....... I was hooking up the sony 710 using the iLink connection, so I switched to a usb 2.0 connection and the drive and the program DVDInfopro worked! I did a media read test and all went well. Now do I have a problem with the connection or the software?
This is driving me nuts I hope it is not doing the same to anyone else!

Having same problem with an external NEC3520 w/firmware 1.0U, InfoPro V3.57 thru firewire.

Problem is when i try to identify the disk.. It hangs up the application.. need to shutdown (kill) application and recycle power of external drive. On internal drive will identify ok... internal is a SONY 510A...

External drive chipset is an Oxford firewire chipset.. haven't tried on USB cause don't have USB2...

If need more info.. can try to get it..
