According to Plextor, GigaREC just reduces the disc's rotational speed during recording. No idea why burnproof can't work when it's enabled...

As to the different color thing: Do you mean going from green to yellow to red instead of bright blue to dark blue, like the weapon or shield status of star ships in bridge commander?

As to saving as PNG, I would have done that already if I had found some easily usable PNG code :P This way I could even have separate resolutions for the saved pictures...

That's what I always thought and what always sounded logical to me ... adjusting the CLV speed according to the GigaREC factor (0.8 is exactly what Audio Master was ... just switch from 1.2 m/s to 1.4 m/s linear velocity)

lol ... exactly ... or just marking the highest values with a darker colour so it is easier to spot them (especially for PIF, this would be useful IMO)

Another question ... would it be possible to create a picture that uses different colours for error numbers instead of colour shades ? I sometimes find it quite hard to spot the max. error value if these occur around rather isolated ECC blocks.

That begs the question of: If you can't see them very well, are they really serious enough to be concerned with?

Although, on the whole, I agree with you, I'd like to see something done to make it a little easier to read in those cases.

I've uploaded a new PxScan. It now has automatic file name generation, so that the output file name will probably be unique and that renaming is not really necessary any longer (it can add manufacturer id, name of scanning device, and date and time when the scan was finished, to the filename).

For all the visual stuff in PxView, well, that will take a bit longer :P

Yep. However, the firmware version does not seem to be stored, and it does not work on DVD+ media. Finally, there is an advantage of DVD+ over DVD- :D

First update: The TA view can be toggled now between the "old" mode and one where you don't need to go to fullscreen to see something...
