hi guys/gals, i have a question...

i have a commercially released DVD (Ninja Tune Label) with videos on it and it also has a hour long audio mix. i would like to get this audio mix and move it to my MD disk.

now, of course i can just record the analog output from the dvd player but i am asking if there is a digital way to do it? for instance, i can see the tracks (titles) in win player 10 but i see no way to just rip that.. perhaps its wishful thinking but thought i would ask...

Yes, there are several programs out there to remove the audio tracks from DVD. Try doing a google search, DVD to Audio.

so you cant simply do it in, say, windows media player for example... you must purchase software? its not that crucial... i can do the analog way...

thanks for posting...

Yes, I don't know of any "freeware" right now that accomplishes this, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I seem to recall a method of breaking out the AC3 audio using decrypter, and then converting with any program that can handle AC3 (Besweet?).

This is for audio on a DVD-Video, NOT for the less common "DVD-Audio" format (a tough one!), but the audio track of a DVD can be ripped using only freeware - though it needs a little more effort than http://www.imtoo.com/dvd-audio-ripper.html - but if you're happy to buy the easy solution, instead of saving money with DIY....

Yes, it's perfectly possible using Besweet. There's a good guide over HERE.
