Pioneer released a new Firmware for the 108....but no official Link, no change history until now
(December, 7, 2:00 PM german Time)

As said, no change history. Nero InfoTools is not showing any difference compared to 1.14. But it works flawlessly.

probably supports more media at all DVD formats, there are new DL media sold to the market

I can´t understand, why the verbatim 16x DVD+R only burns at 12 x...
What´s about improved burn speed for DVD+- RW´s (like the new NEC3520)???

Any improved 1.18 Firmware yet ?

still 12x for verbatim 16x? A09 will include improved writing speed for +/-R among with DVD-R DL support!

lonelyger i haven't tested the 1.18 to see if Verbatim 16X supported at 12X or 16X..

Yes ! but Pioneer burns 16x DVD-R from Verbatim....can´t find any all over the world

I found this comment on the Pioneer-Website:

*We have found a problem for the firmware Version 1.18. Some of the drive users were unable to install the firmware at all.
If you have experienced the mentioned problem, please be kind to update your drive with the following firmware which is released on 10th December.
If you have installed the above firmware(Version 1.18, dated 8th December) without problem, your are not necessary to update your drive with this firmware at all.
