I'm having a hell of a time with my Memorex 5.0 cd label maker software. As you can tell by my username I hate computers and wish I never purchased my Dell Xps 450. I don't see any forums dealing with this problem; can someone point me in the right direction?[:(!]

There are alot of good labelmaking software programs, both shareware and ones you can purchase.

I personally don't recommend making cd labels, they will cause the cd to become unbalanced. Also, they will peel in time. A better choice is to use a marker and label the cd.

Well it is true that labelling a CD with an adhesive based label can easily lead to an unbalanced disc, I don't think this would really cause any problems. I don't think that the balnce issue would become a problem unless the disc was being accessed at full 40x or faster speeds, and most peope don't do this. For audio CDs, I don't think there would be any problem at all.

As for the labels peeling, that is very rare from my experience (as in, I've never had it happen personally, and only have heard of it happening to a small amount of people). It may have something to do with the labels used, I'm pretty picky about the quality of the labels I use.

If you *DO* decide to only use felt markers, please PLEASE be careful which ones you choose to use! Sharpie markers may not be a safe choice. I am currently testing this possibility, but I won't likely see any results for a couple weeks or possibly months.

I have to agree with MP3Mogul on this issue. Labels might work fine, but the one that goes bad can cause a lot of trouble. Not worth it...

[xx(] Hmm...interesting. Well, basically the problem I'm having is actually typing stuff for the cd inserts ( I burn a lot of cds and make a lot of "comps.") It's strange, and kind of hard to explain. My computer skill are lacking, so I'm sure that's contributing to the problem. Still the software seems very complicated.

As for the Sharpie issue, I have personally been using Sharpie Brand (Regular Markers) since the first CD recorder I purchased, years and years ago. I have never had a problem using them.
