Hi All,
I have a Sony DRU700A with the VY05 firmare, i have just read the thread on the Sony DRU700A, and it recommends using the Lite-On VS05 instead.

As I am going to try a DL disc shortly, which firmware would be best, and ( please excuse my newbieness ) is the VS05 O.K. to use on my Sony drive.

Cheers

why use the VS05 firmware, now that VS08 is out???

Get the new VS08 here: http://dhc014.rpc1.org/indexOEM.htm

The VS0X firmwares have extended media support list, and rumours say that burning quality, when DL discs are used, is way better than VY0X firmwares... So, just get the VS08 version for your burning needs...

Just flashed the Sony DRU700A with VS08, but nero's info tool still says its VY05, is this O.K. There doesn't seem to be a problem with the drive.

cheers

You need to get:

a) VS0A
b) OmniPatcher
c) LTNFW

Unpack firmware/omnipatcher load to the omnipatcher, check the last box, save new firmware and flash your drive, now should say 832S with VS0A firmware
