Bad News...

At the official ClonyXXL site, BxxxxJ has announced that he will *NOT* be providing further programming to Clony anymore.

If you can't read German, here's the BabelFish translation:


    Side immediately closed..... There I will dedicate myself again my other hobby I a programming at Clony and other programs up to further stopped. Looks like the end for the marvellous program, Clony. It has provided countless settings for newbies and detected the copy protection of CD's for the advanced alike, now it is no more ...

Definately a sad moment for the entire burning community the world holds ...

    Don't be so sad mate we knew it would not last forever but I am sure someone out there has already started making a program very simular !!!
    But in the mean time if anyone needs the current Clony XXL 2.0.0.6
    they can get a very good English version from :-

    Which will ease the pain a little bit and I am sure that as soon a simular program is released you will see it on here first !!!

    So what do you mean by that
    A guy that has made it easy for people to Backup there Programs for quite a while has not even charged anyone a penny and you say he is Evil what is the Logic about that

    I worked on numerous versions of an english Clony. These versions went out to 30,000 people at the time, doubling the number of people using the program.

    He and his associates compensated by sending me nasty e-mails, and trying to get me banned.

    It finally ended with me banning them from my site.

    I eventually worked on the new version anonymously, to shield myself from them.

    You misunderstand me.

    I translated Bxxxxj's version into english (by modifying the executable).

    However, jazcom, a translator I worked with, is making a completely open-source clone, fully translatable, in VB (bleh!).

    Hi all, well clony ended, well as I am sure another great program will emerge it's the waht now that is the question. I am new and as some of you experienced cloners will be ok I have no programing knowledge and I am really new to the copy lingo and were to find out stuff, and I will be stuck to be honest. All I wanted to do was get some free games, and have a little fun. Perhaps now that will be ended for me. perhaps not forever but it will be awhile, I just hope that the last verion of clonyxxl will carry me.

    Just keep in mind that we do not talk about copying games that we do not own here. So I assume you are talking about freeware games? But then those do not have protection......
