Since I'm getting the new burner(if you've read my previous topic you'd know it is a plextor 24x), what are the best settings for burning a SD2 and Securom New copy protected disc. I have Aliens vs. Predator 2, the U.S. version with securom new protection, and Max Payne with SD2 and I'd like to make a copy of both so as not to have my siblings destroy my original. I'd again appreciate any help from anyone who has done it before!

you should go to www.tarbaby.org and download clony xxl. it will detect the protection on a cd and give you the proper settings to copy it using clonecd. in fact, you can have it launch clone and apply the settings with a click of a button.

Best settings to use on just about any new game is:

For reading
"enable audio & data subchannel reading"
"fast error skip"
(I have been sucessful with 0 read retries and either no error correction or software error correction in fast error skip settings)

For burning
"Don't repair subchannel data"
"close last session"

Hopefully this helps. It worked when I backed up, what seems to be "difficult", Empire Earth (US version) with my Lite-On 24x burner. I also use the burner to create the image and then burn the image to cd. It only took approx. 5 minutes for both read and burn times.
