I forget if I mentioned this already, but sometimes my computer shuts down out of nowhere and right before it dies I see this blue screen flash by with a lot of white writing on it, way to fast to read it though. My brother called it the blue screen of death... would updating my bios fix this?

Check your event log in Windows to see if you can get a clue on why this is happening... Probably a bad driver or bad software conflict.  A BIOS update couldn't hurt if one is available and it is outlined it may fix the issue.  I doubt it though.  Another thing I suggest is to check your memory with MemTest86+.

I clicked on the link to get the program but, from what I read about it "not very much" I think it needs a floppy disk to boot off of "you would know". This is a problem because I havn't put a floppy drive in my new computer yet, and I don't have any floppy disks anyway, soo.... how would one go about checking this windows log of which you speak?

You could always burn an ISO image and boot from the CD-ROM.

Administrative Tools/Event Viewer (via the Start Menu)
