I would like to backup Hitman 3:contracts

I checked on the net and found the following informations

Install game using Alcohol 120%

** IMPORTANT **
Burn CD2 with Alcohol using SecuROM *new*(4.x/5.x)(doesn't matter what speed), be sure RMPS checked, Write method RAW DAO... Run game with CD 3 in CD ROM drive, then open alcohol activate RMPS emulation. CD 2 MUST be burned in order for the game to run..

I used Alcohol version 1.4.8.222 any version that supports the above SecuROM version should work

Notes:

The first time you run the execute it may take as much as 30 seconds, after that it should come up in under 10 seconds.

The method actually works and i wonder why i have to have the disc insterted since the emulator does the protection emulation.

You shouldn't have to have the second disc inserted if you have the image on your hard drive. Just make sure that you are emulating the .mds file not the .mdf file. The reason it takes so long is that you used a poor .mds file. You could try slowing down the RMPS emulation speed to the slowest possible.
