hi all newbie here i have a few questions any help would be appreciated. i have just bought lg gsa 4163b how do i know what version firmware it is,i think it is version A104 but not sure.i noticed A105 is available so went to lg site.it said version A105 only for below A104 does that mean i can't download it .also it said you must only have 4163b device attached to ide cable set to master i have 2, cd rom set to master & lg writer set to slave does this affect firmware download.

any input would be appreciated

If you have Nero, in Choose Recorder you'll find what is.

Download the firmware and run it...ignore anything else.

I've got an LG 4163b & have flashed when set as primary master - primary slave - secondary master - secondary slave, even usb/firewire external. No problems encountered.
Just download & flash.
Nero infotool will tell you what f/w you have at present.
