Hi

I have LiteOn 812S@832S for about 8/9 months and everything was OK 'till yesterday. If the drive is connected to the IDE interface the red LED is lighted all the time. When i disconnect the drive everything is back to normal. The drive is currently connected to the primary slave channel (tried other 3 posibbilities also and it's the same), my HDD is SATA and i havn't got anything else on IDE. Tried the drive on another copmuter and it's the same - the HDD LED is ON for all time. Anyone knows what can be the cause of that and how to fix it ?? (also tried relflashing with VS0G patched/unpatched firmware and it's still the same)

p.s.
the drive burns/reads correctly

thx for any help

in my opinion there is. for eg i can't see now when my hdd is working. and this can lead to further drive damage (and maybe other stuff - had that once with a optical drive died also 1 IDE channel on the mainboard). anyways it's going back to store today.

The truth is that this is maybe a symptom of fatigue. If you have RMA off course you should use it. I just thought since the drive its a kind of old you wouldn't have it.
