Plasmon sells there technology to third parties this explains the large quality difference between the disc's. The quality can range from very good to bad.

Very Good are disc's from AOD/Double Diamond Digital

The Samsung disc's are supposed to be made in Greece by a joint venture of Creation/Samsung/Plasmon. I don't know there procedures and I haven't got any test results from disc's comming from this plant.

Malaysia if I am correct one of Plasmon own factories is in that country.

By the way most older Samsung disc's are made by Ritek or Prodisc.

To test quality could be possible depending on the drive you got.

for Lite On drive you can use.
K-probe
CD -docter
WSES (be carefull with this last one!!!)

Some other drives
work with
cd-docter

For Sanyo drives you can use
CD-docter or Sanyo's own docter program.

Plextor has for it's premium drive plextools profesional which seem to has the most options.

Most drives can give C2 info so most drives will work with NERO CD SPEED. But this last one isn't very good for really testing media.

So let me know which drive you got and I will tell what your options are and which is the best.

You've already recieved info about the discs. THey are not overly common so a detailed description of their performance is unlikely. If someone has used the discs before you can bet that they will post here for everyone's benefit

another option would be to send 3 or so pieces of media to someone with a LiteON burner and ask them to test it for you

I don't think the TEAC write or the BENQ cd-rom can report c2 errors if they can then you could use NERO cd speed. If your lucky then I might be able to test this media. Getting the media is no problem. The problem is time.[}:)]
